Synaco global is proudly partnered with one of South Australia’s largest construction engineering companies, recognised Australia wide for achieving standards of excellence within the structural steel fabrication industry, upon many landmark projects nationwide.

Due to a number of successful tenders for 2020, our client is looking to add an additional member to its workshop management team. As a Workshop Supervisor you will be the focal point for some landmark projects based in Adelaide and interstate ensuring their successful delivery within budget and on time.

Some of key areas of the role includes:

  • Team leadership and management of production staff, including task allocation, performance management and monitoring of individual, team and organisational targets and measures
  • Lead, mentor and motivate Leading Hands and production team members, ensuring individual and group productivity
  • Lead the production team in addressing all relevant issues within the drawings, specifications and different standards (i.e. applicable Australian Standards) and when required seek guidance from the Workshop Manager
  • Ensure that all standards are compliant and that the procedures are implemented and adhered to
  • Ensure work is completed in a timely manner in line with current completion dates and budget hours
  • Estimate hours remaining to complete work packages and report potential schedule conflicts to the Workshop Manager
  • Evaluate and manage resource levelling
  • Support continuous quality improvement
  • Manage all workmanship to ensure it is within quality parameters
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are maintained to the highest standards and share this responsibility through regular communications with your team to ensure it is consistently front of mind

Some of the key requirements of the role include:

  • Trade qualification (Fabrication Engineering) essential
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar leadership role
  • Sound knowledge of structural steel fabrication
  • Proven experience in meticulously planning and scheduling work
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate people
  • Pro-active and value driven
  • Superior organisational skills
